Where are you from and what did you do before joining Rimagine?
My hometown is Shenyang, a north-eastern city in China. Since graduated from University, I have worked as an English teacher for 2.5 years. After I came to Shanghai at the beginning of 2007, I worked at a consulting company for 3 months first, and then I joined Rimagine.
What’s your job and how does a normal day look like?
I work as an account manager at Rimagine. Everyday I work closely with photographers and retouchers because I am the bridge between the client and Rimagine, I need to brief my team according to client’s requests, and supervise the whole production. Sometimes I need to go on location shooting with the team, when I’m usually busier. I need to check all involved talents are set, such as photographer, assistants, models, make-up &hair artist, wardrobe stylist and so on. Basically I’m there to help or make sure the production runs smoothly.
What do you like about your job?
I really enjoy what I do at Rimagine. I always have a passion for photography. Even though I don’t work as a photographer, but I like working with them, stay behind the scene to see how they work, and look at the beautiful images they take. Another thing I like about my job is that I’m always working with clients from different industries, which is very exciting and interesting for me.
What are important skills for your job?
My job title is account manager, but I also work as a producer. An excellent producer should be good at communicating with others, team oriented, have an insight on art and creativity, and pay attention to detail. Well organizing skill, always keeping a clear head, efficient time and budget control are also important.
If you could master one skill, what would that be?
I wish I could speak more languages. I work a lot with German and French people, I would like to know some their languages. Actually I have been studying German a little bit.
What do you like about Shanghai?
Shanghai is a dynamic city. I can almost find everything here. I can enjoy food from different countries, meet people from all over the world. I like living in this multi-culture international city.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
In my spare time, I enjoy hanging out with friends, or keeping in touch with friends online, sometimes watch DVD at home, or go to a park/near city and taking pictures in a nice weather.
